BUPA has launched a nationwide competition to find the stars of the forthcoming TV ad campaign for 2012. The competition invites members of the public to upload short videos of what healthy means to them. From these videos 3 will be selected from a shortlist selected by the public and will be aired during 2012. Its certainly an interesting premise and one I have found myself contemplating over the last few weeks, largely because I have been taking significant steps to live a little healthier – eating a balanced diet (rich in fruit and vegetables), drinking plenty of water and exercising regularly. After all running a recipe blog can occasionally be damaging to your waistline! So, for me, this competition has come at the right time and I think I might be putting together a short video myself. Any of my readers care to take part in submitting a video about what healthy means to them?
Just to tempt you into participating there are a few prizes too – first prize of a MacBook Air and two runner-up prizes of Flip Mino 3 pocket-sized HD camcorders!
The Necessary Background
BUPA have realised that being healthy means different things to different people. For example, to me at least, being healthy means eating a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables, drinking plenty of water and exercising daily. I walk a minimum of one hour every day with my little Jack Russell and swim three times a week at the local municipal pool. This is what healthy means to me. Being healthy might mean something different to you and BUPA are calling on you to demonstrate what that is in a short video.
