Are we really here again so soon? It seems only yesterday I was basking in the heat of a beautiful Spanish summer and now I am facing winter, christmas and the end of year party season all over again. Christmas will soon be in full swing. This means plenty of planning in this household as it appears we are to host the family Christmas this year (fun!). For an entire two weeks our house will accomodate our nearest and dearest with cherubs (you have no idea how hard it was to resist the urge to say brats…) We are already planning menus for the big day and we havent even entered November yet – not to mention we have the usual cakes and puddings to prepare in advance. We´re not going to go too over board because at the moment I am on a healthy eating diet and dont want to gain weight over the holiday period. Not least of our worries is the effect this will have on our beautiful leather corner sofas. The advantage is it can be wiped clean after a dinner party or after the kids have vacated and gone to bed… Honestly, I dont know where I would be without my wipe clean furniture – taking into account the kids, dogs and, on occasion, myself!
At the moment the main source of debate is whether we should have a Traditional British Christmas menu (Turkey and all the trimmings), a Spanish Fusion menu (Roast Suckling Pig) or something a little different. I am tempted to go with the latter but admit children can be problematic when it comes to food! Most especially ours who are particularly awkward eaters.
