The Recipe Blog featured in new book

The Recipe Blog features in a great new book called Microsoft Office for the Older and Wiser by Sean McManus. The book takes a different project for each chapter and shows you how to do things like create newsletters in Word, manage a holiday budget using Excel, and create a photo slideshow with PowerPoint.

The project for OneNote, which comes with the version of Microsoft Office that most people have at home, is to make a recipe book. The book shows you how you can use OneNote to organise your recipes, so that you can search by ingredient or easily find recipes themed by the course of the meal or type of food. The book includes my recipe for rabbit stew in a section that shows how you can add recipes from websites to your recipe book.

The book’s author Sean McManus says: “OneNote is great for organising all kinds of information, including recipes, so that they can be easily browsed and searched. I wanted to include an example of a great recipe website in the book, and chose The Recipe Blog because it has so many original recipes, and because the site has a really friendly personality. A lot of people don’t even realise they have OneNote in their version of Microsoft Office, so I hope my book inspires them to try it out for all kinds of new things, including recipes.”
