Earlier on I provided a recipe for Toberone Cookies we are following up with one almost equally fattening – Toblerone Fondue! Although you can appease your conscience by ensuring you serve a wide and varied selection of fruits with the fondue, I would personally recommend strawberries, seedless grapes, stoned dates, wedges of peeled kiwi, and kumquats just for starters! At least this way you can state categorically it is contributing to your healthy 5-a-day, even if the accompanying dip is a little naughty…
Ingredients:
2 x 100g bar milk Toblerone, cut into small pieces
3 tablespoons golden syrup
3 tablespoons cream
2 tablespoons Cointreau (optional)
Serves: 8
Preparation:
1. Place the Toblerone into a heavy based saucepan over a very gentle heat. Add the syrup and cream and stir continuously until the Toblerone has melted and is warm.
2. Mix in the Cointreau and pour into a small warmed serving bowl.
3. Serve immediately surrounded by fruits for dipping.
Cooks note:
milk can be used instead of the cream to reduce calories/fat a little
