Ingredients 1 lb 2 oz golden granulated sugar 10 fl oz water 4 tablespoons vinegar ½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda Method Butter 11 x 7 inch tin. Ingredients: 8 ounces caster sugar 8 ounces ground almonds 2 egg yolks 1 egg white Method: Thoroughly mix the sugar and almonds in a bowl. Fold in the egg yolks, one after the other. I have very fond memories of the days around Bonfire Night when my Grandmother would make Treacle Toffee, a rich sugary treat that would stick to the top of my mouth.
