Granose Meat-Free Mixes

I have toyed with being Vegetarian or Vegan since my teenage years when I became concerned about animal welfare. As someone who suffers from recurring bouts of anaemia, even on a nutrionally balanced diet, this often became a little problematic. Eventually I came to a middle ground which suited me. I eat a varied and balanced diet ensuring I get a "little of everything". I eat meat occasionally but, generally, it is in small quantities and acts as a flavour enhancer. Back in the UK I always preferred the flavour of rice milk to Soya - but Spain has the most delightful soya milk drink sweetened with brown sugar - it means I have to use less sugar in the mix and it is truly wonderful - vegan or not I am sure you will enjoy this healthier rice … [Read more...]

For the lactose intolerant, vegans or even those following a low fat eating plan try replacing cows milk with soya milk in some of the more dairy rich recipes. With it I made some treacle toffee, and these wonderful ginger biscuits - an ingredient unique of my own. Hence their name Fembat´s Black Gingers. I have one heck of a sense of humour, its just unfortunate that often others just dont seem to share … [Read more...]
